Hi family and friends,

As many of you may know, I am graduating from high school on June 5th, 2021. This past year has been really tough. Trying to balance online school (and the perils of socially- distanced marching band) and just trying to get through the reality of not being able to see my friends face to face as often has been a real challenge. During quarantine I’ve had some time to reflect on myself, look in the mirror, and ask, “who am I?”  Facing the realities of what I found was hard, but I was able to grow closer to God and he was always there to bring me peace and restoration. Although this past year has been uncomfortable, he has slowly allowed me to figure out who I really am – a child of God.

I have grown so much over this last year, but I have had trouble determining the next step for my life. What did life after high school look like? After a lot of prayer, thought, and conversations, I felt the Lord calling me to go on The World Race. It’s a nine-month program where I travel to three different countries to help build churches, serve local communities, and spread the love of Jesus. My journey begins in September 2021, where my team and I will go to the World Race headquarters in Georgia for 6 weeks of training. During training, we will be more educated on the cultures and areas we are heading into, prepare for various living and weather conditions, and most importantly, prepare our hearts and minds for the many challenges to come throughout this journey.

For the first three months, I will be in San Jose, Costa Rica, led by three leaders, where we will be working with local churches involved in community outreach, manual labor, and children’s ministry. Our team’s next destination will be Craiova, Romania, where we will be doing evangelism, Bible distribution, and community outreach. Our last destination will be Siem Reap, Cambodia, where we focus mainly on community outreach.

To be able to go on this life-changing trip, I need to fundraise $15,800. All proceeds from this go towards travel expenses, food, health insurance, and shelter. When first applying for this trip, this number was super intimidating.  How was I, at 18 years old, supposed to raise that much money? Then God reminded me of a Biblical truth. He reminded me that he is a God of provision. He reminded me that he doesn’t call you to things without the promise of equipping you and providing for you on that journey. I am working on photo shoots, an adopt-a-box fundraiser, t-shirts/bracelets, videos, and working a part time job to help me achieve this goal. With your prayers and financial help, I know and fully believe that this goal can be fulfilled.
